What is the difference between conversation history and AI memory?
Short answer
History is the record of what was said. Memory is the smaller set of information the system is expected to carry forward and use again.
History preserves sequence
A conversation log is useful because meaning often depends on sequence: what you asked, what changed, what you rejected, and where the discussion stopped. It gives the next turn a place to begin.
That does not automatically mean every detail should influence future conversations.
Memory preserves durable meaning
A durable memory should earn its place. It might be a standing preference, a correction to how you want to be addressed, an ongoing decision, or what a certain piece of music means to you.
Xiara keeps those memories visible and editable instead of hiding them inside a black-box profile.
